Our theme of Elegant Fiesta is a nod to Marta’s Mexican-American roots. Our vision for this theme is a riot of colors. All of the colors of the serape are welcome -even white- as long as the end result is colors! Below are a few options to consider, but there are many options out there!
Las Damas (Ladies)
Tops and dresses in bright colors, traditional Mexican embroidery, floral motifs, colorful hair accessories, and dangly earrings all fit the bill. I’m a big fan of Solei Ethnic. Searches for Mexican embroidered dresses will pull up lots of options on Etsy and Amazon.
Los Caballeros (Gentlemen)
Guayaberas, sometimes called Mexican or Cuban wedding shirts, are a traditional Latin collared shirt. Typically made of cotton or linen, with pleating or embroidery or both, and two to 4 pockets, these shirts are designed to be worn untucked, without a tie. These can be short or long sleeved. A good guayabera can take you far, gentlemen!
Great Options are available on Amazon, Etsy, and a host of other places.
