For those of you traveling from out of town or out of state, we are especially honored you are traveling to celebrate with us. Below is information that will hopefully be helpful to you as you make your travel plans. Please be aware that summer is the most popular time to travel to Fairbanks, and lodging and rentals can become scarce or expensive during the summer.
Flying to Fairbanks
If you are flying up to Alaska, you will be flying into the Fairbanks International Airport (FAI). Alaska Airlines, Delta, United, and several regional airlines serve the Fairbanks airport.
Transportation in Fairbanks
Car rental companies located at the Fairbanks Airport are Avis, Enterprise, Budget, Hertz, Dollar, and National/Alamo. The Seekins-Ford car dealership in town also offers car rentals in the summer. In addition, various taxis are available at the airport when flights arrive. Uber and Lyft are also available in Fairbanks. Please be aware that it can be difficult to find Uber and Lyft drivers late at night and in the early hours of the morning, even from the airport. If you have difficulty finding transportation, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Lodging
Hotel North Pole, which is the closest hotel to our celebration site, is unfortunately booked due to military maneuvers happening in July at Eielson Air Force Base. Pike’s Waterfront Lodge, Princess Lodge, La Quinta, and the Best Western Chena River Lodge, are all near the Fairbanks Airport. The Hyatt Place, Hampton Inn and Suites, and Candlewood Suites, are all on the side of town closest to our house. AirBnB and VRBO are often the most affordable accommodation options in the summer. Especially for those of you coming into Fairbanks from out of state, please let us know when you plan to arrive and leave, so we can plan some time to hang out and catch up!
